VITA PM®9
Here you will find detailed working instructions for use on VITA PM 9 for the press-over, staining and layering technique.
With
VITA PM 9 anyone who is in favor of the press-ceramic technique, will get an all-in-one press ceramic made of fine-structure feldspar ceramics. Using this technique inlays, onlays, veneers and anterior crowns can be fabricated by means of the staining and layering technique; furthermore, crowns and bridge frameworks made from yttrium-stabilized zirconium oxide can be overpressed.
Press-over technique means that first a zirconium oxide framework is milled, processed, colored and sintered. Then the fully anatomical form is modeled onto this framework cap using burnable wax. Subsequently the entire crown (zirconium oxide framework + wax modeling) is embedded with a special investment material. In the preheating furnace the wax is burnt, just as with casting objects. By means of the press furnace the PM 9 pellets are pressed into the cavities under pressure and devested after cooling. Then the crown/bridge is processed with diamond milling tools and glaze-fired.
In addition, VITA PM 9 can also be used for the framework-free press technique where the restoration (inlay, onlay, veneer) is modeled on a plaster model with burnable wax, then invested and PM 9 is pressed into the cavities in the press furnace. Afterwards, the object can be devested and processed by means of diamond milling tools.
