There is hardly a material in dentistry that has evolved in the last years as a high-tech material that noticeable as ceramic. Until a few years ago, the use of ceramic without a framework for stabilization – usually made of metal – had not been possible. Today’s high-performance ceramics offer outstanding options to fabricate even large-span tooth bridges without the use of metal, i.e. solely made of ceramic. This metal-free use of ceramic is called “all-ceramics”.
